PECULIAR PLACES

Discovering the UK’s strangest, most unusual locations…

We have a Ko-Fi!

Splendid news! We now have a Ko-Fi page, where you can generously donate your hard-earned smackaroons to help us afford the costs of running a travel blog. You can check it out here.

We wouldn’t want to set something like this up without being completely honest with you on where this money would be going towards, so allow me to shine a light on why we ask for donations in the first place: We’re broke graduates with no full-time job.

It’s not for lack of trying, don’t get me wrong. When I’m not working on setting this blog up and drafting potential places to visit, I’m on the job hunt and sending through applications, updating my profiles, and longing to be one with the worms in the warm soil. I have to assume my fellow co-owner is up to similar endeavours.

By donating, you’re ensuring we can afford things like ticket prices for attractions, travel expenses to get to the locations, any upgrades in equipment we may need down the line (think better camera lenses, microphones for audio posts etc). We also understand that people may wish to have their contributions recognised, and we have plans in the works for rewards depending on the amount donated, and if you choose to be a monthly supporter (all of which will be saved for when we start getting enough traction to warrant putting our resources into things like that.)

So for now, all we can ask is for you to head over to our Ko-Fi if you like our work and wish to support us. You can give as much or as little as you like (though the minimum is £1.) If you aren’t interested in financial support but would still like to help us out, then sharing our blog is a great way to help us gather some attention and start to take off. You can also check out the Pilot episode on YouTube, which gives you a great idea of what we’d like to make should our show ever get commissioned (or if we decide to set up a fundraiser for it!)

That’s all for now. Our first actual post for a place is in the works, so be sure to sign up to our mailbox if you’d like to be alerted on when it goes live.

And remember – stay curious!

Kai Joyce
